Terahertz Instruments

Terahertz radiation can be applied for many uses such as terahertz tomographic imaging, terahertz radiation and time domain spectroscopy in the medical, pharmaceutical, security and industrial process monitoring industries.

THz Spectrometers

We provide compact and non-compact THz spectrometers that enable high resolution spectroscopic measurements. These systems are based on millimeter wave Backward Wave Oscillators (BWO's) combined with frequency multipliers and broadband Pyroelectric Detectors.

THz Generators

Combining various tuning range of the Backward Wave Oscillators (BWO) with frequency multipliers, these compact and non-compact generators are able to operate in the spectral range of 0.18 to 1.5 THz. Other advantages include compact size, lower operating voltages, extended lifetime and no water cooling required.

THz Detectors

Pyroelectric detectors

These detectors are designed for registration of modulated electromagnetic radiation in the mm and sub-mm wavelength range. A black filter can be mounted on the detector input to prevent parasitic illumination in visible and infrared regions.

Golay Cells

Golay Cells are opto-acoustic detectors designed for operation in the spectral range of 0.02 to 20 THz. They can be used to detect both CW and pulsed THz radiation. Black polyethylene input windows are available to cut off optional radiation

THz Optics

We offer essential THz optical components such as Wire Grid & Mid-IR polarizers and holders, polished Picarin & Polyethylene lenses, polished Picarin windows, attenuator sets and low pass filters.

THz Magnetic Systems

The MS-1.2 magnetic systems come with a 1.2 Tesla permanent magnet designed to house a high-frequency BWO. These systems have inputs for BWO electrical connections and water cooling systems.

THz Imaging Systems

The THz imaging systems are computer controlled and employ the high power of BWO based THz generators and the high sensitivity of Golay Cells. These systems provide a scanning range of 2-4cm with high spatial resolution. Two dimensional THz images are obtained by scanning the THz detector/pin-hole assembly.
